Promising Season for ACC Youth

With a national title for the U13 and champions in the U17 B-Pool, ACC can look back on a particularly successful youth season. These achievements underscore the development of the youth department, which is increasingly making its presence felt at the national level with various teams.

ACC's U13 played the decisive match on home court against Sparta, which had traveled to Amsterdam with players from Antwerp.

ACC batted and made 190 for 4 in 25 overs. Tommy van der Kroft set the tone with a quick 34 from just sixteen balls. Khyat Nakhwa made 28 runs, Reyaansh Mehra reached 50 runs and retired, and Riaan Seghal closed the innings with 34 not out.

Sparta started the chase well. Opening batsman Mehan Shah remained not out with 50 runs, and Anay Mavani also contributed with 30 runs. However, ACC bowling and fielding kept Sparta under control. E. de Michelis took two wickets for eleven runs and Vivan Jethva two for sixteen. Riaan Sehgal took two catches, while keeper Tommy van der Kroft accounted for one catch and two stumpings.

Sparta ultimately reached 127 runs. With that, the victory for ACC was secured, and the U13s were able to lift the national youth title.

ACC U17 champions of B-pool after exciting final

ACC's U17 also concluded the season with a championship. In Rotterdam, VOC was on the schedule as the opponent in the decisive match for the championship in the B-pool. ACC had already narrowly beaten VOC twice earlier in the season, meaning another exciting match was expected.

ACC batted first and, thanks to a strong innings by Rehan Muhammad, reached 200 for 6 in thirty overs. The number four remained not out with 67 runs, including eight fours and two sixes. Danyal Adnan (20), Basir Hakimi (14), and Ayaan Farooq (16) also made important contributions.

VOC then made things particularly difficult for ACC. With two overs to go, VOC needed only five runs and the home team seemed close to victory. However, the ACC boys held their own. Ayaan Farooq decided the match with a spectacular finish: in three balls, he managed to take two wickets, securing the victory for ACC. VOC was eventually all out for 196. Farooq finished with 4 wickets for 24 runs, while Rehan Muhammad took two wickets for 37 runs. ACC also played an important role in the field, with five caught, two of which were for Sawan Velidandla.

With this, ACC became champion of the U17 B-pool. The team hopes to build on this performance with a place in the A-pool, where they can compete for the national title next season.
