- Experienced Colin Ackermann added to Dutch Men’s Squad

South African born Colin Ackermann has become available to play for the Dutch National team and has been added to the national men’s squad for the T20 World Cup qualifiers which will be played in Dubai from the 11th of October – 3rd of November 2019. Colin will undoubtedly play a big role in the quest to qualify for the T20 World Cup. As part of their preparation, the Dutch will travel to Oman in early October to play in a quadrangular event. With the addition of Ackermann the Dutch further strengthen their already strong looking team.
A former South Africa under 19s international, Ackermann currently plays for Leicestershire CCC where he also captains the T20 side. He’s enjoying a good start to the 2019 season with two centuries to his name, bringing his tally of first-class centuries to 17.
Head Coach Ryan Campbell: “Adding Colin to our squad is a massive boost for us heading into the World Cup Qualifiers and ODI Super League. He’s an outstanding player and person and this has been shown in his performances for Leicestershire County Cricket Club and his appointment as their T20 captain. He has played a number of seasons here in the Netherlands for Dosti and we have been waiting for the timing to be right for him to join us. I have no doubt his addition to our squad will help our younger players learn from a professional what it requires to be a success at International level.”
