Wat gaat goed:
Het bestuur herkent een sterke basis van integriteit, onderlinge samenwerking en eigenaarschap: er heerst een sterk teamgevoel. Daarnaast is de financiële beheersing sterk verbeterd en nu solide en transparant, wat bijdraagt aan het vertrouwen binnen de bond.

Waar we ons op richten:
Op basis van de evaluatie zijn drie thema’s aangewezen voor verdere versterking:

• Visie & richting:
  De aanscherping van de langetermijnrichting, inclusief de rol van breedtesport, wordt verder opgepakt binnen het lopende strategietraject. Dit traject moet leiden tot een helder en breed gedeeld kader waarbinnen bestuur en organisatie opereren.
   
• Communicatie (intern & extern):
  Het bestuur wil werken aan een meer voorspelbare, consistente en toegankelijke communicatiestructuur, zoals:
  • regelmatige updates over bestuurlijke ontwikkelingen via bijvoorbeeld de Chronicle en website;
  • vaste momenten met clubs en vrijwilligers (zoals Digital Townhall Meetings en regionale ontmoetingen);
  • duidelijker inzicht voor de achterban in waar het bestuur mee bezig is.
     
• Veilig sportklimaat:
  Dit onderwerp vraagt om meer zichtbaarheid en borging binnen de KNCB. In 2026 zetten we hier op in door:
  • Het actualiseren en verduidelijken van relevante gedragscodes;
  • meer aandacht en zichtbaarheid voor de beschikbare meldprocedures;
  • meer aandacht en zichtbaarheid voor de instanties waar men terecht kan voor hulp of informatie;

Tot slot:
De bestuursevaluatie vormt een belangrijk onderdeel van zijn jaarlijkse reflectiecyclus. Op basis van de besproken thema’s blijft het bestuur gericht werken aan verdere versterking van zijn functioneren en aan de afstemming van zijn activiteiten op en met de achterban. Hiermee blijven we transparant, lerend en toekomstgericht werken.

In accordance with the minimum quality requirements of NOC*NSF, the board conducted a board evaluation this fall. This self-evaluation helps the board reflect on its own performance, collaboration, and role.

What is going well:

The board recognizes a strong foundation of integrity, mutual collaboration, and ownership: there is a strong team spirit. In addition, financial management has significantly improved and is now sound and transparent, which contributes to trust within the association.

What we are focusing on:

Based on the evaluation, three themes have been identified for further strengthening:

• Vision & Direction:
  The refinement of the long-term direction, including the role of recreational sports, will be further addressed within the current strategy process. This process should lead to a clear and widely shared framework within which the board and organization operate.
   
• Communication (internal & external):
  The board wants to work on a more predictable, consistent, and accessible communication structure, such as: 
  
  o Regular updates on board developments via, for example, the Chronicle and website; 
  o Regular meetings with clubs and volunteers (such as Digital Townhall Meetings and regional gatherings);
  o Clearer insight for supporters into the board's activities.
   

•  Safe sports climate:
  This topic requires greater visibility and assurance within the KNCB. In 2026, we will focus on this by:

  o Updating and clarifying relevant codes of conduct;
  o More attention and visibility for the available reporting procedures;
  o More attention and visibility for the organizations where people can go for help or information;

Finally:

The board evaluation is an important part of its annual reflection cycle. Based on the themes discussed, the board will continue to work towards further strengthening its performance and aligning its activities with and for its supporters. This will ensure that we maintain a transparent, learning-oriented, and future-oriented approach.
