- Americans upset Dutch team in Chennai

The Dutch men's team suffered a heavy defeat in their T20 World Cup match against the United States in Chennai. The score was 196-103.
Kyle Klein, who had recovered from an injury, replaced Timm van der Gugten. Dutch captain Scott Edwards opted to bowl first after winning the toss. A lackluster start for the Dutch team led to a score of 23/0/2. However, in the third over, Kyle Klein bowled the dangerous Shayan (27/1).
The Americans punished bad balls mercilessly. The score after the Powerplay was 53/1. At 73/1/8, a 200+ score was in sight for the USA. Many balls landing in no man's land didn't help the Dutch cause. However, the score reached 82/2/9 when Bas de Leede fooled Monank Patel and had him caught. After ten overs, the score was 96/2.
A Fred Klaassen beauty meant 105/3/11. Mukkamalla, however, held his ground, batted beautifully, and only capitulated after 79 runs (159/4/16.5). The so-called ‘death’ also went America’s way. However, the dreaded 200-run barrier remained unbroken as the USA final score was 196/6. Bas de Leede took 3-37, Logan van Beek 1-28. Shubham Ranjane made 48 not out off 24 balls.
Netherlands innings
Michael Levitt was the victim of a ball that kept very low (9/1). When Ackermann was dismissed on his first ball and Bas de Leede (23) was caught, the Netherlands' chances of winning were minimal. From 66/5, they reached 96/9. Left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh (4-21) was largely responsible for the collapse of the Dutch team, who were all out for 103 in 15.5 overs.
On February 18, the Netherlands will play its final group stage match against India in Ahmedabad.
