- Big Dutch victory over Guernsey keeps World Cup dream alive

The Netherlands has kept hope for T20 World Cup qualification alive with a big win over Guernsey: 172-99. However, the Dutch must beat Italy on Friday, which in turn defeated Scotland.
Saqib and Paul van Meekeren joined the team for Daniel Doram and Teja Nidamanuru. Nidamanuru would later enter the field as a substitute fielder, as would Hidde Overdijk.
Mediocre bowling and fielding of Guernsey was mercilessly punished; first by Michael Levitt (25), then by the Kampong duo Max O'Dowd (92 not out) and Scott Edwards (48 not out). The Netherlands only lost one wicket and made 172 runs, of which 116 for the second wicket.
The Dutch had the pressure on from the start. Apart from Bradley (26), the top order failed. After that, the Guernsey batting hardly got better. The Netherlands used eight bowlers of whom Michael Levitt (3-11) and Saqib Zulfiqar (2-16) were the most successful as Guernsey managed 99.
The match against Italy on Friday at 4 pm will be crucial.
