- Cricketer Bas de Leede contracted for Abu Dhabi T10 event

Amsterdam, November 15, 2022 -- Dutch cricketer Bas de Leede, who signed a contract with MI Emirates for the ILT20 earlier, has won a second franchise contract in short succession. Later this month he will play in the 10-over tournament in Abu Dhabi for the Morrisville SAMP Army T10 team.
De Leede was signed after his excellent performances during the T20 World Cup. He took thirteen wickets, making him the second most successful bowler of the World Cup.
There are several private cricket initiatives, especially in the UAE. Early in 2023 the ILT20 will start in Dubai and a number of other Emirates, including Sharjah. That sporting event is now preceded by the Abu Dhabi T10 that will be played from 23 November until 4 December 2022. All matches (three per day) will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The Morrisville SAMP Army is a new franchise in the tournament, which had six participants last year and eight this year. The event had 342 million TV and online viewers last year.
Bas comments: “I am very excited to be picked up by SAMP Army for the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10. I’m expecting a lot of entertainment and excitement in these games and can’t wait to get started.”
