- Daniel Doram too tough for Jersey in T20 warm-up match

The Dutch men's team had a good dress rehearsal for the first European qualifying match against Jersey on Saturday. In the warm-upe match against the same opponent on Thursday, the Orange selection bowled Jersey out for 102 in nineteen overs.
Daniel Doram (3-5) proved unplayable for the islanders. The tall left-arm spinner walked through the top order of Jersey with playful ease. Doram, who plays for Leeward Islands in the West Indies, comes from Sint Maarten and is therefore available for the Netherlands. Michael Levitt also had good figures with 2-4 whilst Zach Lion-Cachet took 2-10.
Chasing 102 runs was no difficult task for Max O'Dowd (29) and Zach Lion-Cachet (53 not out), who did the job in just 15.3 overs.
On Saturday, the Dutch team will play Jersey again, but then 'for real'. The venue is Groene Zoom 20 in The Hague, home base of VCC, and starts at 11:00. Watching the match live on the spot is the best option, but those who live far away can watch the live stream on ICC TV.
Serious power hitting by the women
The Dutch women are also preparing for a European Qualifier in August. The Southern Suns played a shortened match against the Western Sharks. The Suns posted 94/6 in ten overs, with Robine Rijke (32 from thirteen balls) as top scorer. Keeper Rosalie Lawrence had a stumping, a catch and a run out.
Anyone who thought the match was over at 71/3 after eight overs had not counted on Myrthe van den Raad (photo). The young batter hit three sixes in the last two overs and got her team over the line on the very last delivery: 95/3! The women will play their European Qualifier from 20 to 27 August.
