- Double visit Zimbabwe summer 2019

In the summer of 2019 both the Zimbabwe men’s and women’s cricket team will play a series of matches in The Netherlands.
In June the men will face each other in two ODI’s and two T20I’s. The ODI-double is planned for Wednesday 19 and Friday 21 June; the T20I’s are on Sunday 23 and Tuesday 25 June. Venues are still to be decided.
The last ODI-encounter between the two teams, during the 2003 World Cup in South Africa, ended in a comfortable win with 99 runs for Zimbabwe. The last time the two teams met in a T20I was during the WC T20 2014 in India, the teams captained by Peter Borren and Brendan Taylor (picture). In Sylhet Zimbabwe won by 5 wickets, especially due to a great innings by Brendan Taylor (49 runs), a former player/coach of the Utrecht-based Hercules cricket club. Zimbabwe will travel on to Ireland for three ODI’s and three T20I’s.
The women will play each other in a series of four T20 matches. These are on the calendar for July on Wednesday 17, Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July. For these matches the venues will be decided at a later stage. In the ICC T20I ranking Zimbabwe is the nr. 23, while The Netherlands occupies 23nd place.
