Top- en Hoofdklasse
The KNCB has structured this years T20 competition in a way that all participants have the same chances of qualifying for the finals day on Saturday 29 August 2020. There will no longer be played in regional groups, but in groups which are decided by a draw. The winner of the T20 competition automatically qualifies for the European Cricket League (ECL) in La Manga in 2021.
Group stage
The pots which were used during the draw were based on five categories:
Pot 1: VOC, HBS, ACC, Excelsior’20 (The semi-finalists of the TK season 2019)
Pot 2: HCC, Dosti, VCC, VRA (highest ranked teams TK season 2019)
Pot 3: Sparta Cricket 1888, Quick Hg, Punjab CCR, Kampong (lowest ranked teams TK season 2019 + number 1 & 2 HK season)
Pot 4: Hermes DVS, Rood en Wit, VVV, Salland (highest ranked teams HK season 2019)
Pot 5: Groen en Wit, Ghausia, Bloemendaal, Qui Vive (lowest ranked teams HK season 2019 + highest ranked first team EK-season)
The draw resulted into the following four groups:
Group A: Excelsior’20, VRA, Quick Hg, Hermes DVS, Ghausia
Group B: VOC, VCC, Punjab CCR, Rood en Wit, Bloemendaal
Group C: ACC, Dosti, Kampong, Salland, Groen en Wit
Group D: HBS, HCC, Sparta Cricket 188, VVV, Qui Vive
Playing dates
The T20 competition will be played on Saturday afternoons, starting time 4pm, on the following dates: 11 and 18 July, 1, 8, 15 August, 22 August (quarter finals) and 29 August (finals day).
If clubs from the same region or city are drawn into one group, the KNCB gives the opportunity to play the match on a Friday evening, provided that both clubs agree with this and the starting time of the match is not later than 5.30pm. If the starting time is later than 5.30pm, less overs will be played to avoid problems with darkness in the evening.
Finals
Quarter Finals: The number 1 and 2 from each group will progress through to the quarter finals
- Quarter Final A: Winner Group A – Runner-up Group B
- Quarter Final B: Winner Group B – Runner-up Group C
- Quarter Final C: Winner Group C – Runner-up Group D
- Quarter Final D: Winner Group D – Runner-up Group A
Semi Finals: the winners of the quarter finals qualify for the finals day
- Semi Final A: Winner Quarter Final A – Winner Quarter Final C
- Semi Final B: Winner Quarter Final B – Winner Quarter Final D
Final: the winners of the semi finals will play in the final
- Final: Winner Semi Final A – Winner Semi Final B

KNCB regional meetings on April 1 at 8 p.m
The KNCB would like to invite you to an upcoming regional meeting on Wednesday, April 1. During this meeting we would like to discuss the further development of cricket in the country and in your region. The aim is to jointly exchange ideas, discuss opportunities and see how we can continue and strengthen the positive developments towards the future. There is also an opportunity to reflect on relevant themes and current developments. Your input is very important and we would like to hear your ideas, experiences and points of interest. Representatives of the KNCB will be present at all meetings. Register for the Regional Meeting: send an email to the Development Officer for your region.
