- Dream debut Pien Oost surprises Scots

Three wickets from the debuting Pien Oost (3-12) ensured that the Netherlands A beat the Scots on Monday (89-85). Furthermore, there was mainly a Dutch team performance.
Phebe Molkenboer (14 off seven balls) was caught and the 'cameo' of the well-batting Sanya Khurana (20 off 13) also came to an end prematurely. Nevertheless, 36/2/4 was still a promising score. A nice partnership (with a final over of 22 runs) by Caroline de Lange (22) and Merel Dekeling (21) brought the score to 89/3/10.
Scotland A innings
A fantastic direct hit by Sanya Khurana provided the first breakthrough (32/1 in the fourth over) and the very first ball from debutant Pien Oost also resulted in a wicket (36/2 in the fifth). When she struck again in the same over, the Netherlands was on top (41/3), especially when the dangerous Darcey Carter became the third victim of Oost (3-12!) and Isabel van der Woning (0-14) curbed the Scottish scoring drive nicely.
Nine runs were asked from the last over. A catching opportunity was dropped, but Robine Rijke took a crucial catch in the outfield. Thanks to a brilliant final over by Hannah Landheer (1-11), the Scots were beaten by four runs.
