- Dutch cricketers cannot take revenge for football defeat against Germany

On Monday evening, the colleagues of the national football team were outplayed by Germany, although the damage was limited to 1-0. A great motivation for the cricketers to put things right. That didn't happen, although the damage was limited and the Netherlands A even won a bonus point: 195-156.
After a few rained-off games, it was finally possible to play again in southern Spain on Wednesday evening. Shahid Afridi and Musaddiq Ahmed showed the Dutch fielders all corners of the small ground, both with scores in the sixties off just 23 balls. No Dutch bowler went for less than fifteen (!) runs per over.
Logically, chasing 195 runs was almost impossible, especially when the top order failed to achieve impressive performances. However, there was still plenty to play for: if the Netherlands A scored at least 137 runs, a point would be earned. They managed to do so thanks to Sikander Zulfiqar (54 of 21) and Shariz Ahmad (35 of thirteen balls, with some incredible square cuts for six). Netherlands A is not yet without a chance for the European T10 title. After Wednesday evening, Germany is in the lead, followed by England.
On Thursday, October 17, the Netherlands will play at 11:45 AM and 6:30 PM.
