- Dutch show fighting spirit and resilience, wins Super Over after tie against Thailand

The Netherlands women have defeated higher ranked Thailand after a Super Over. The Dutch restricted Thailand to a tie (115-115) in an exciting warm-up game with varying chances, and then won the Super Over.
The Netherlands, which was sent in by Thailand, got off to a good start (76/2/12) thanks to scores from Heather Siegers (27 off 18 balls) and Babette de Leede (30 off 25). Some issues in the middle order resulted in 79/5, only one and a half over later. 17-year-old Carlijn van Koolwijk (18 off thirteen balls) made sure that the Netherlands reached 115/7. Suleeporn Laomi took 3-14 for the Thai.
During the Thai innings, the Dutch showed fighting spirit. Five different bowlers took a wicket each and Thailand was on 71/5 after 13.3 overs. The dangerous Chantham was caught for just four runs by Eva Lynch off her own bowling. Frédérique Overdijk took 2-21.
Koncharoenkai and Maya seemed to bring Thailand home, but were both dismissed. Two run outs and brilliant final overs by Iris Zwilling (2-17) and Merel Dekeling (2-16) led to a rare tie. The Super Over became a prey for the eager Dutch team.
The clever win is a promising perspective for the World Cup qualifying matches of the Dutch, which will start on April 27 with a match against Vanuatu.
