- Dutch team convincingly defeats Namibia in second warm-up match

In the lead-up to the T20 World Cup qualifying tournament in Nepal, which kicks off for the Netherlands on Sunday, January 18th, the Dutch women secured a victory over Namibia in their second and final warm-up match: 201-115.
Batting first, Heather Siegers, who has returned from cricket retirement, proved her invaluable contribution to the team. She put the African attack to the test with a fantastic display of power-hitting. In 39 balls, the Haarlem native scored 86 runs with thirteen fours and four sixes before retiring. Later, Sterre Kalis (39) also retired, and there were strong contributions from Phebe Molkenboer (22) and Robine Rijke (23). A hat-trick from Diergaardt couldn't prevent the Netherlands from recording 201/7.
Iris Zwilling (2-23) struck with her very first delivery, and despite Yasmeen Khan's 51 runs, Namibia never got back into the game. Frédérique Overdijk made her mark both fielding (catching three) and bowling, but otherwise the victory was a true team effort, with sisters Heather (3-24) and Silver Siegers (3-20) standing out.
This victory will give the Netherlands confidence for their first real match on Sunday against Zimbabwe at 4:15 am Dutch time, live and free on ICC TV.
