- Dutch women beat Scotland in final over nailbiter

The Dutch women's team has sensationally defeated Scotland. The second World Cup qualifying match in Nepal was a 157-150 nailbiter.
There was a lightning start from Heather Siegers (18), but the openers unfortunately did not survive the Powerplay. Halfway through the innings it was 66/2/10.
With a partnership of 49, Sterre Kalis and Babette de Leede (18) brought the score to 76/3.
The hope was then based on Sterre Kalis. Together with Frédérique Overdijk, she added 53 runs for the fifth wicket after which Kalis cut loose. Orange got up to 157/6 with Kalis an unparallelled 87 not out of sixty balls with fourteen fours and a beautiful six over the top.
Innings Scotland
An excellent catch by Iris Zwilling on long on meant the early end of the talented Darcy Carter.
The Dutch started strongly but some expensive overs led to 49/1 after the Powerplay. The partnership ended when Iris Zwilling took her second catch at long on (Fraser 41). After ten overs it was 69/2.
The required run rate initially increased to nine per over. Sarah Bryce was dropped twice. 44 were required from the last five overs.
It was 119/3 when Babette de Leede stumped Kathryn Bryce (42) Caroline de Lange (2-27). Game on! 31 needed from three overs. Sarah Bryce (30) was caught by Overdijk. When Lister (cb) was also dismissed, the best chances of winning were for the Netherlands. Eleven of the last over was too big an ask for Scotland thanks to a brilliant final over from Heather Siegers; A fantastic victory.
Orange thus took a giant step towards the Super Six.
