- Dutch women miss opportunity against Scotland

The Netherlands women have lost their first T20I encounter with Scotland. They restricted the Scots to 110 and got extremely close, managing 104/8 in reply.
The Dutch had an excellent start with wickets for Eva Lynch and Iris Zwilling. In the next phase however, bowling and fielding was of less quality than on Tuesday when Thailand was beaten.
Darcey Carter - dropped on 8 in the seventh over and on a run out in the eighth- was the backbone of the Scottish innings with 53 not out.
Megan McColl was also dropped off Phebe Molkenboer’s bowling who deserved (even) better figures than 1-20.
Robine Rijke (2-16) eventually broke the 60-partnership for the sixth wicket, bu could not prevent the Scots from scoring 110/8. Lynch took 2-13, Zwilling 2-28.

Heather Siegers and Babette de Leede were unable to repeat Tuesday’s heroics. When Sterre Kalis (29) was bowled with 41 runs to go, the Dutch winning chances deteriorated.
The remaining batters were unable to write history, although Frédérique Overdijk and Hannah Landheer came close.

Following our national women's team's successful participation in the inaugural ICC Emerging Nations Trophy in Thailand, new major tournaments are already on the schedule for our national teams. In January, the Dutch women will play the T20 World Cup Qualifier in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu. The top four teams will qualify for the T20 World Cup in England in the summer of 2026. In February and March 2026, the Dutch men will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka. One of the top matches is the one in Ahmedabad on February 18, 2026, against host nation India.
