- Dutch women’s team to T20 World Cup after win over USA

The Dutch women have reached the T20 World Cup for the first time! In Katmandu, a win over the United States meant that the Dutch have six points and will finish in the first four regardless.
Star bowler Isabel van der Woning unfortunately had to go home due to family circumstances. Hannah Landheer joined the team for her.
It was 23/1 after the Powerplay after a bizarre over from Heather Siegers. Babette de Leede made a stumping, but the replay showed that the bail had already been dislodged before. A little later a clean bowled of Silver Siegers did not have to be judged by the third umpire (36/2).
48/2/10 was a great result from a Dutch perspective in the middle of the innings. Bhogle (36) cut loose after two difficult chances; the third was swallowed by Sterre Kalis at cow corner (71/3).
An eventful eighteenth over led to 113/7. After twenty overs, the target for the Dutch was 130 runs. Hannah Landheer took 3-30, Caroline de Lange 2-27. Heather Siegers was (again) economical with 1-19.
The Dutch had an excellent start with the bat this time. Just before the end of the Powerplay it was 57/1 (Heather Siegers 28 off 12 balls). 79/1 was the promising score halfway through the innings.
Phebe Molkenboer played her best innings of the tournament with a crucial 46 not out.
On 90/2 - well above the DLS target - it started to rain heavily. A little later, the umpires decided that it was impossible to continue playing.
The win means the first ever participation of the Dutch women in a T20 World Cup. That World Cup will start in June in England.
