- England gives Netherlands first loss in T10 European Cricket Championship

So far, the Netherlands had been phenomenal and unbeaten in the T10 competition in Malaga; even strong teams such as Scotland and England were beaten. On Wednesday, however, England was in great form in the second encounter: 175-131.
The English opening batsman Claydon offered a simple caught and bowled chance. That dropped catch proved costly as the fortunate batsman made 35. Harrison Ward finally looked his last year's destructive self. He made 39 runs before being beautifully caught at fine leg by Udit Nashier off Clayton Floyd's bowling.
Although Saqib Zulfiqar caused two run outs, the Netherlands saw England walk further and further away to a spectacular final score: 175, with 60 runs off twenty balls for Lincoln. Until now the Dutch had always had an answer to accelerating opponents, but this time they were at a loss for words. England hit no less than 21 sixes.
Netherlands innings
It was clear that the Dutch needed a miracle to make almost eighteen runs per over. Clayton Floyd made 33 off eleven balls and Ryan Klein also made a valiant effort with a wonderful 44 off fifteen.
Although Shirase Rasool hit three more sixes in five balls there was not much more in the pipeline. The Orange finished on 131; a fine total on another day, but not nearly enough today.
