Europe gets own T20 Premier League

For the first time in cricket history Europe will have its own international cricket league. The European T20 Premier League is a partnership involving the national cricket organisations in Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands in which several so-called franchises will take part. The first edition of the event will be held between July 15 and August 3.

The event has a strategic partner in Rules Sport Tech. Co-founder of the event is Indian actor, sports enthusiast and entrepreneur Abhishek Bachchan.

KNCB chairman Guido Landheer: “The KNCB is very happy with the European T20 Premier League. This league will ensure more top cricket in the Netherlands and offer opportunities for Dutch players to compete with international top players.”

The following fantastic cricket events are coming up shortly: 1st half of May – WCL2 matches against UAE and Scotland (men in the Netherlands, 50 overs) 1st half of June – WCL 2 matches against Nepal and Scotland (men in Scotland, 50 overs) 1st half of June – USA plays number of T20Is in the Netherlands (women) 1st half of July – T20 World Cup Qualifier for men (in the Netherlands) 2nd half of August - T20 World Cup Qualifier for women (in the Netherlands) Follow it all on ICC TV, www.espncricinfo.nl and follow the KNCB on social media!

Cricket4KIDS is a mobility programme developed by the KNCB with aiming at increasing the number of children playing cricket in a fun way and/or participating in activities involving cricket games! Activities with a high ‘fun factor’. Playing fun games, practising new and old skills together en rounding it off with a match, are all incorporated in the programme. Activities with basic formats of mobility are high in the priority list, and through these activities children get to know the sport of cricket.
