- First ProSeries game goes to Hurricanes

In preparation for the T20 TriSeries against Ireland and Scotland in May and the T20 World Cup in June, the Hurricanes and the Seafarers will play each other in the coming days. The first meeting on a fresh and windy but dry VCC went to the Hurricanes on Wednesday: 160/7 – 161/3.
The Seafarers had their top scorer in Vikram Singh (59 out of 36). From ball one, the Amstelveen lefthander attacked the Hurricanes attack. This approach led to Singh reaching his half-century in 25 balls. Later in the innings, Sikander Zulfiqar played a great innings with 39 runs off 22 balls. Aryan Dutt (1-12) and Kyle Klein (2-18) had the best figures for the Hurricanes. 160/7 was the end result.
Innings Hurricanes
Michael Levitt opened the batting for the Hurricanes the way Vikram had done for his team. Together with Max O'Dowd, he raced to 56/1 in 4.5 overs. At that point Levitt, who had had most of the strike, was on 43 not out off twenty balls. He reached his 50 in 24 balls and kept up the high scoring pace, as evidenced by the 100/1 score after ten overs.
Helped by Noah Croes (43 off 36), the Hurricanes victory was never in jeopardy, with a smooth partnership of 72 runs for the second wicket. Levitt fell for an excellent 92 off 50 balls before Barresi and Shariz Ahmad made the last runs needed: 161/3/17. Sikander Zulfiqar had excellent figures with 1-11 in two overs.
N.B. Where Viv Kingma is mentioned in the scorecard, it was in fact Sebastiaan Braat who was bowling 1-24 in two overs.
The next matches will be played on 30 April (VCC 3 pm), 1 May (VCC) and 7 May (Hermes DVS).
