First T20I against PNG abandoned
Published at 14 August, 2024Although it was dry in large parts of the Netherlands on Wednesday afternoon, Amstelveen could not escape several annoying thunderstorms and rain showers. They disrupted a promising start by the Netherlands in the first T20I as part of the HCLTech TriSeries against Papua New Guinea.
The Netherlands got off to a good start, especially with Iris Zwilling who wasn't afraid to take risks and was unbeaten with 42 runs off 28 balls (8x4). The total was 66/1/8.2 when the umpires called it a day.
On August 15, PNG will play a T20I against Scotland at 14:00. A day after that, the Dutch team will take on the Scots.
