- First World Cup qualifying match Dutch cricketers in Namibia abandoned

The first World Cup qualifying match of the Netherlands against Canada rained out on Wednesday. The Netherlands won the toss and opted to field first. However, it started to rain while the national anthems were being played. In the end, not a single ball was bowled. On Friday, March 7, the Netherlands will play in Windhoek against host country Namibia.
The Dutch are now in fourth place in the World Cup League 2 standings. The top four will play a World Cup qualifying tournament in 2027. The World Cup itself will take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia at the end of 2027.
