Guido Landheer steps down as chairman of the KNCB
Published at 21 January, 2026Guido Landheer will step down as chairman of the KNCB at the General Members' Meeting in April. This is due to his appointment as permanent representative of the Netherlands to the OECD, for which he will be working in Paris this summer. Combining this position with the chairmanship of the KNCB is not compatible.
Under his chairmanship, the KNCB has become significantly more stable organizationally and financially. Since 2021, the number of cricket clubs and members has grown substantially. During the same period, the national men's team qualified for three consecutive World Cups. The women's team regained ODI status in 2022 and is making a serious attempt to qualify for the T20 World Cup in England this summer.
Landheer expresses his appreciation for the board, the federation office, the clubs, and the many volunteers. With the current board and the new CEO, a solid foundation has been laid for the continued growth and professionalization of cricket in the Netherlands. In the coming months, he will remain committed to a smooth completion and handover.
