- Ireland far too strong for already qualified Dutch

The Dutch women's team, which has already qualified for the T20 World Cup, has suffered its first defeat during the T20 World Cup qualifying tournament in Kathmandu. The Dutch had no chance against Ireland: 143-45.
Myrthe van den Raad and Merel Dekeling joined the team for Sanya Khurana and the sick Heather Siegers.
Caroline de Lange made the first major breakthrough when she got Gaby Lewis (20) played on (41/1). De Lange (2-15) struck again - Prendergast LBW - after fellow leg spinner Silver Siegers had bowled Amy Hunter (34). When Hannah Landheer (3-35) took her first wicket, it was 82/4. Thanks to a long and deep batting side, Ireland still reached 143/9 (Paul 39, Zwilling 1-12).
For the first time in the tournament, the Dutch showed a poor batting performance. Via 21/3 it even became 26/8 (Prendergast 3-13) towards 45 all out (Jane Maguire 3-9).
Enough to evaluate, but the conclusion is still the same: the Netherlands will go to the T20 World Cup in England in June.
On February 1, the Netherlands will play against Bangladesh.
