- Ireland wins despite Tim Pringle heroics

The Netherlands just failed to win the second T20I in the NORDEK TriSeries against Ireland. At the VCC ground it was 150-149 in a fantastic duel with varying chances.
Sybrand Engelbrecht and Aryan Dutt were replaced by Bas de Leede and Tim Pringle. The latter was welcomed by Andy Balbirnie with a beautiful cover drive. Shortly thereafter, however, Viv Kingma hit the middle stump of the Irishman (19/1).
Many bowling changes led to the fall of the wicket of the dangerous Paul Stirling, who offered Daniel Doram a simple return catch. Two balls later the tall left arm spinner bowled the equally dangerous Harry Tector: 32/3 in the fifth over.
Lorcan Tucker and Curtis Campher's recovery was ended when Bas de Leede took a brilliant catch at deep point (65/4), followed on 78 by a simpler catch at wide long off by Vikram Singh (Tucker 40).
Scott Edwards anticipated excellently when a short ball from Paul van Meekeren led to a high top edge from George Dockrell (83/6).
Reaching 130 would be an admirable Irish achievement from this position. However, number 8 Mark Adair (49) played a gem of an innings until Tim Pringle got him LBW. Ireland finished on 150/8 after twenty overs. Pringle took 3-32, Van Meekeren and Doram 2-27 each.
Innings Netherlands
A somewhat cautious opening ended in 39/1 in the sixth over when Michael Levitt (19) saw a mistimed hit being caught.
Bas de Leede and Scott Edwards showed great running between the wickets after O'Dowd's dismissal (33) and took the score to 102/4 in the sixteenth over (De Leede 32).
However, when is Logan van Beek and Scott Edwards were dismissed shortly after each other, the chances of winning were completely reversed.
But Tim Pringle showed fighting spirit hitting Barry McCarthy for 18 runs in the nineteenth over and two sixes in the final over.
Two runs of the very last ball would have meant a Super Over. However, Pringle, who made 35 off thirteen balls, was unable to finish his heroics. Ireland won the spectacular match by one run.
On Monday, Ireland and Scotland will play against each other at 5pm. The Dutch national team will be back in action against Scotland on Wednesday, also at 5 p.m.
