- Italy defeats European champion Netherlands in first T10 in Finals Week Cartama

As reigning European T10 champion, The Netherlands A will only play in the Finals Week. The disadvantage of this is that the Netherlands - unlike this year's six group winners - does not have any rhythm. At least that seemed to play a role in the first meeting with Italy, which was lost by a considerable margin.
After a failing top order, it was thanks to Roel Verhagen (18), Olivier Elenbaas (15) and Viv Kingma (14) that a total of 117 runs was achieved. Those who had the illusion that this was sufficient were soon to get a reality check. Viv Kingma went for 26 runs and the third over from Sebastiaan Braat as well. A great start for the Italians, who seemed in a bit of a hurry; with only one run per ball required, some wickets fell to unnecessary wild swings.
Dinidu Marage (43 off 14 balls) top scored for the Italians. For the Netherlands, spinners Clayton Floyd (2-18) and Arnav Jain (2-22) had more than acceptable figures, but Italy still got there with sixteen balls to spare -- and that's quite a lot in T10 cricket.
