- KNCB announces squad for ICC Emerging Nations Trophy

National women’s coach Neil MacRae has announced the squad for the first edition of the ICC Emerging Nations Trophy to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 18th November until 1st December 2025.
The ICC Emerging Nations Trophy will be an eight team T20I Tournament, played annually starting from 2025 to 2028. In the first edition it will feature the five Associate Member teams that have women’s ODI status – Netherlands, PNG, Scotland, Thailand and UAE, as well as the next three highest ranked teams – Namibia, Tanzania and Uganda.
Neil MacRae: “We have selected a squad which shows continuity from the squad which performed well at the ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier in the Netherlands in August. Sterre Kalis will boost the squad by returning in November after having missed the Europe Qualifier in August when playing in The Hundred.”
“The ICC Emerging Nations Trophy tournament in Thailand in November will be a good opportunity to continue to develop the attacking style of cricket which the team has produced over the past year.”
“We are grateful for the extra competitive fixtures which the ICC have provided in the Emerging Nations tournament. The players are excited about the opportunity to play T20I matches against other Associate nations in a tournament format.”
“The Emerging Nations tournament will be important preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in January, which is the final step on the road to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in June 2026”, MacRae concluded.
