KNCB says goodbye to Ingrid van der Elst
Published at 09 October, 2021On Thursday 7 October, the KNCB said farewell to Ingrid van der Elst in an appropriate manner. Ingrid recently reached retirement age and has devoted herself to cricket in the Netherlands for almost 15 years as an employee of the KNCB.
Before Ingrid joined the KNCB, she was already active as a volunteer in many other areas. As a player (for Rood en Wit and Kampong) she frequently played for the Netherlands Women's team, she was a team coach, she worked on Weekblad Cricket magazine and for a number of years she fulfilled the role of Editor-in-Chief of Weekblad Cricket. The Dutch cricket community is deeply indebted to her and it was therefore no surprise that the KNCB Board awarded Ingrid the KNCB Crown Tie/Pin. It was therefore a real pleasure for KNCB President Jurgen Delfos to present this to her during the farewell gathering. The KNCB will miss her.
