- Levitt and Kyle Klein dominate as Hurricanes win ProSeries

On the beautiful Hermes DVS ground, seamer Kyle Klein and opening batsman Michael Levitt have emphatically applied for the T20 World Cup squad next month. The seamer of South African/Dutch descent took 6-7 (!) - including four wickets in the nineteenth over - and thus laid the foundation for the victory of the Hurricanes. Levitt (68*) didn't go about the run chase half-heartedly.
20-year-old Sussex prospect Zach Lion-Cachet had no answer to a beauty from Kyle Klein (9/1) and Vikram Singh was stumped off Aryan Dutt immediately after a beautiful six (22/2/5). After eight overs, the run rate was still only five per over and Scott Edwards lost his wicket while attempting a paddle sweep off Michael Levitt (44/3).
It was 69/4/12 when Saqib Zulfiqar was clean bowled by Shariz Ahmad and 70/5 when Ryan Klein was dismissed by Clayton Floyd. Only Sybrand Engelbrecht escaped the malaise with a well-made 49 including a straight six over the top.
In the nineteenth over, Kyle Klein struck four times, with ducks for the three tailenders. The Seafarers were all out for 119 in 18.5 overs.
Innings Hurricanes
Michael Levitt and Max O'Dowd (16) raced to 48/1/6.2. Levitt played a characteristic knock – he reached his 50 in just 27 balls – and soon the target was in sight. Noah Croes (25) fell on 103, but Levitt remained unbeaten with 68 runs from 35 balls. In 13.3 over, the Hurricanes-victory was a fact. Kingma and Pringle each took a wicket.
Of five scheduled ProSeries T20s the Hurricanes won three and the Seafarers won one.
One match could not be played due to rain.
