- Martin Hancock and Leonie Mrkic join KNCB Office

The KNCB Office has recently been strengthened with two new colleagues in the field of competition affairs and development. Since March 1, 2026, Martin Hancock has been active as a competition support officer. As a KNCB umpire, Martin brings a wealth of valuable knowledge that will be useful in competition matters. He is also very familiar with the club side, thanks to his experience as the former secretary of Eindhoven CC.
Martin Hancock: "I hope and expect that my experience as an umpire, among other things, will be valuable for KNCB competition matters. Furthermore, I believe that my involvement with cricket and my ability to view situations from different perspectives can contribute to fair, clear, and workable decisions within the competition."
Leonie Mrkic will start as a project officer for women's and girls' cricket on April 1. Leonie is a former player for the Dutch women's national team (known at the time as Leonie Bennett) and has spent her life on cricket grounds. Together with the development team, she sees both opportunities and a clear need to further promote and strengthen girls' and women's cricket: "I believe my own experiences as a player and international will help me achieve both qualitative and quantitative growth for cricket in the Netherlands."
David Woutersen concludes: "We are delighted to have added two enthusiastic and motivated people to the national team's office. Competition affairs and girls' and women's cricket are important pillars for the further development of cricket in the Netherlands. With the appointments of Martin and Leonie, we are creating additional opportunities to effectively support clubs and forge the right partnerships."
