Max O'Dowd on fire for Chattogram Challengers
Published at 10 January, 2023The duel in the Bangladesh Premier League between Dutch internationals Paul van Meekeren (Khulna Tigers) and Max O'Dowd (Chattogram Challengers) has been decided in favour of the latter. The Tigers put a challenging 178 on the board in twenty overs. However, thanks in part to an excellent inning by O'Dowd (58), the Challengers won by nine wickets.
Two Pakistanis in particular saw the spotlight on them. For the Tigers, Azam Khan made a blistering 109 off 58 balls. His compatriot Usman Khan almost matched the effort for the Challengers with 103 off 58 deliveries. Together with O'Dowd, he made a partnership of 141 runs for the first wicket. Paul van Meekeren was less fortunate; in 3.2 overs he remained wicketless while conceding 42 runs.
Colin Ackermann's team, Sylhet Strikers, will return to action on January 10.
