- Netherlands beat Zimbabwe XI in warm-up game

Netherlands – 191 all out in 42.2 overs (Musa Ahmed 84, Max O'Dowd 26, Colin Ackermann 26; Johnathan Campbell 4/35, Nkosana Mpofu 1/4, Luke Jongwe 1/13) Zimbabwe XI – 182 all out in 34.5 overs (Brian Bennett 53, Nyasha Mayavo 47, Luke Jongwe 22*; Paul van Meekeren 4/27, Aryan Dutt 2/18, Fred Klaassen 2/33)
The Dutch men have narrowly won their friendly match against a Zimbabwe XI. After winning the toss, it was mainly Musa Ahmed who impressed. The 25-year-old lefthander made 84 runs out of a total of 191 all out in 42.2 overs (after 136/3/25; the last five wickets fell for only nine runs). Max O'Dowd and Colin Ackermann both made 26. Johnathan Campbell was the most successful bowler for the Zimbabweans; the legspinner took 4-35.
Zimbabwe seemed to chase this modest target despite a weak start (in which seamer Paul van Meekeren quickly took two wickets). Brian Bennett (53) and Nyasha Mayavo (47) made a partnership of 66 runs for the sixth wicket. When their wickets fell, things got difficult for Zimbabwe. Luke Jongwe (22 not out) could have done the job, but did not get any support from his teammates. Zimbabwe had more than fifteen overs left when the final wicket fell. The outstanding Paul van Meekeren finished 4-27. The Netherlands won by nine runs.
On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the Netherlands will play three One Day Internationals against Zimbabwe in Harare. Follow them live through ICC TV. https://app.icc.tv/home?from=%2F
