- Netherlands defeats France in European T20 Qualifier

The Dutch women’s team easily won the first game against France. At the Desert Springs Resort, the Orange chased 82 French runs in 8.1 overs.
Scotland, France, Italy and the Netherlands are participating in the European Qualifier in Spain. The top two qualify for the Global Qualifier in early 2024.
Although the Netherlands did not have an optimal preliminary stage with a sick player who was also confronted with a lost cricket bag, there were eleven fit players on the field on Wednesday morning.
On the unknown pitch, captain Heather Siegers opted for fielding. In the fourth over, Eva Lynch got revenge for a catch that was dropped earlier off her bowling when Iris Zwilling was able to grab a simple catch at mid-off.
A few loose balls resulted in an acceleration for France, but the French ladies did not get further than 83 for 9, with Marie Violleau (38) as their top scorer. The Netherlands used seven bowlers, five of whom were successful. Line and length of Robine Rijke resulted in the beautiful figures 3-14; Phebe Molkenboer took 2-15.
Innings Netherlands
Iris Zwilling was looking forward to having a go at the French attack, as evidenced by three boundaries in the first over. Thanks mainly to her
36 off eighteen balls and 25 not out by Babette de Leede, the Netherlands raced to 84/2 in 8.1 overs.
