- Netherlands proceed to Super 12 through UAE victory over Namibia

Despite a loss against Sri Lanka, the Netherlands has qualified for the Super 12 at the World Cup T20. Contrary to expectations, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) narrowly defeated Namibia (148‑141).
With seven wickets down Namibia was only on 69 runs, chasing 148. Wiese and Trumpelmann, however, fought their way back into the match; they made a 70-run partnership for the eighth wicket.
An important moment came in the seventeenth over. Waseem had a chance of catching Wiese off a skier. He dropped the catch and also missed the runout opportunity that followed. Wiese benefited; the eighteenth over went for sixteen runs.
Fourteen runs of the last six balls was the assignment for Namibia. David Wiese seemed to hit the ball out of the ground, but Alishan Sharafu grabbed an incredible catch on the long on boundary. As a result, Namibia ended eight runs short of the victory that would have seen them through.
Because the Netherlands now finishes second, it will proceed to the next round, the so-called Super 12, where it will lock horns with India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and the winner of Group B, who will be known on Friday.
