Windmills, dykes & wides
Eleven colourful cricket stories, in English, re Dutch cricket
Next to football, cricket is the most popular sport in the world. Although The Netherlands is just a small player on the international stage, the Dutch men's XI has produced many surprising and entertaining victories. This has lead to Krijn Vrolijk and Jacob-Jan Esmeijer, both cricket writers, putting together a similar entertaining book about Dutch cricket.
The eleven stories are told by Dutch international players, about their encounters, both on and off the field, with cricket stars like Sachin Tendulkar and Chris Gayle. Some of the greatest successes in Dutch men's cricket are highlighted, such as the famous World Cup T20 opening match victory over England in 2009 at Lord's, the spectacular win over Ireland in the WC T20 in Sylhet, and, going back even further in history, the one and up 'til now only victory over Australia in 1964.
