No chance for Dutch women in first T20I vs Ireland
Published at 14 August, 2023The Dutch women’s team has lost its first T20I encounter with Ireland. The visitors successfully chased 92 runs for no loss.
Robine Rijke played well for an energetic 38. Phebe Molkenboer was the only other recognized batter to hold her own with 23. Thanks to tailender Caroline de Lange who made 13 the Dutch finished the full twenty overs. Arlene Kelly took five wickets.
Ireland had just played a number of matches against strong Australia- and it showed. Openers Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter smashed their way to victory in 13.1 overs.
The Dutch will play two more T20Is vs Ireland on Wednesday and Thursday at VRA.
