- Orange narrowly stronger than PNG in bizarre match

The second meeting with PNG in the HCLTech TriSeries has resulted in a win for the Netherlands by only one wicket: 191-192/9.
Due to rain the match did not start until around 12.15 p.m. In the initial phase, no appeals were sustained, but the scoring pace was low.
In the first half of the innings only Hannah Landheer, Silver Siegers and Eva Lynch took a wicket each (96/3/25).
It was obvious that PNG had set itself the target of batting fifty overs. The fact that they did not succeed was mainly the merit of Annemijn van Beuge, who struck five times.
In the 29th over she took two wickets and in the 31st another one. In addition to the excelling Ruma (79), the late middle order was in.
As a result of a wonderful direct hit by Eva Lynch it became 149/7, but with smart batting and running PNG still managed 191 all out. Bowling figures: Eva Lynch took 2-27, Annemijn van Beuge excelled with a career best 5-37.
Innings Nederland
32/1 was a smooth start, until Babette de Leede (22) was caught by the first slip via the keeper.
A partnership of 27 runs for the third wicket led to 66/3 (Robine Rijke 17). Phebe Molkenboer and Iris Zwilling (28) added another 66 for the fourth wicket.
19-year-old Phebe Molkenboer (a masterful career-best 75) and Caroline de Lange, and then Eva Lynch, seemed to bring the Dutch home, but on 189 the eighth and ninth wicket fell. Number eleven Silver Siegers still secured the win for Dutch with a stylish cover drive for three runs.
