- Orange women let Ireland work hard for their win

Despite a competitive total, the Dutch women's team had to leave the win to Ireland on Thursday: 137/6-141/2.
The Dutch had a great opening (53/1/8) thanks to Heather Siegers and Phebe Molkenboer (both 27).
Just like against Italy, the Dutch had a productive middle order, with clever running in the final phase (Frédérique Overdijk 25). 137/6 was the defensible end result - on paper.
The dangerous Gaby Lewis was dropped early and made good use of her second life with a series of boundaries.
Today the groundfielding of the Netherlands was below par and Ireland took full advantage.
Caroline de Lange brought the Netherlands back into the game by bowling Amy Hunter (65/1/7.4) and Iris Zwilling had Prendergast caught behind.
Nonetheless Ireland reached the win in the final over with Lewis unbeaten on 66.
Ireland are currently ranked first and the Netherlands second. The best two teams will go to the Global Qualifier in Nepal in January 2026.
On Saturday, the Netherlands will play against Germany at 3:45 pm and on Sunday against Italy at VOC in Rotterdam.
