- ProSeries: Seafarers and Hurricanes selected via draft for the first time

In the past, the teams of the Seafarers and the Hurricanes were selected for the ProSeries by the national coach and his staff. This year, however, Ryan Cook came up with a different set-up, analogous to an IPL auction: a 'draft' – without any cash involved. On 20, 22 and 27 May, the teams will be in action on Dutch soil. These matches are important in the preparation of the Dutch men's team for the WCL2 and T20I matches in June in Scotland and the European T20 World Cup Qualifier in July in the Netherlands.
The players could be chosen from three categories: contracted, platinum and gold. The Hurricanes have Noah Croes as captain and Max O'Dowd as marquee player. The Seafarers have Kyle Klein as captain and Scott Edwards as marquee player.
Both teams were allowed to select a player alternately – the Hurricanes won the toss and were the first to choose. In a playful setting and with Corey Rutgers as 'auctioneer' and Ryan van Niekerk as Adjudicator, the following result emerged:

In January, the Dutch women will play the T20 World Cup Qualifier in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu, which our men's team will also visit around that time. In February 2026, the Dutch men will participate in the T20 World Cup, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka.
