- ProSeries: Seafarers and Hurricanes selected via draft for the first time

In the past, the teams of the Seafarers and the Hurricanes were selected for the ProSeries by the national coach and his staff. This year, however, Ryan Cook came up with a different set-up, analogous to an IPL auction: a 'draft' – without any cash involved. On 20, 22 and 27 May, the teams will be in action on Dutch soil. These matches are important in the preparation of the Dutch men's team for the WCL2 and T20I matches in June in Scotland and the European T20 World Cup Qualifier in July in the Netherlands.
The players could be chosen from three categories: contracted, platinum and gold. The Hurricanes have Noah Croes as captain and Max O'Dowd as marquee player. The Seafarers have Kyle Klein as captain and Scott Edwards as marquee player.
Both teams were allowed to select a player alternately – the Hurricanes won the toss and were the first to choose. In a playful setting and with Corey Rutgers as 'auctioneer' and Ryan van Niekerk as Adjudicator, the following result emerged:
Hurricanes Seafarers
Noah Croes Kyle Klein
Max O'Dowd Scott Edwards
Paul van Meekeren Aryan Dutt
Michael Levitt Vikram Singh
Viv Kingma Shariz Ahmad
Ryan Klein Teja Nidamanuru
Saqib Zulfiqar Olivier Elenbaas
Musa Ahmad Wesley Barresi
Clayton Floyd Sikander Zulfiqar
Ben Fletcher Lucas del Bianco
Akhil Gopinath Mees van Vliet
Damian van der Berg Udit Nashier
Sebastiaan Braat Teun Leijer
On May 20, 22 and 27, these teams will play three T20s against each other. Check out details about the draft on the KNCB’s social media (Insta, Fb, X)!
