Rashid Shah to be nominated as KNCB Board Member for Marketing and Communication
Published at 08 July, 2025The Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) is pleased to announce that Mr. Rashid Shah will be nominated as Board Member for Marketing and Communication at the upcoming General Meeting.
Rashid Shah moved to the Netherlands in 1999, where he pursued and completed his Master’s degree. He joined Optiver Holding B.V. in 2001 and played an instrumental role in the company’s global expansion — from a 50-person operation to a multinational organization with thousands of employees worldwide. After a distinguished 21-year career, Rashid retired from Optiver in 2021. He currently serves as Managing Director of the Optiver Foundation.
In addition, Rashid is the CEO and co-owner of Tachyon Security, an ICT company he co-founded with a business partner.
Rashid has made significant contributions to Dutch cricket. Optiver sponsored the Netherlands national cricket team during the 2007 and 2011 ICC World Cups. More recently, Tachyon Security sponsored the KNCB Women’s Super League in 2023.
A dedicated member of VRA since 2002, Rashid has previously served on the VRA Board and currently sits on its Supervisory Board. A former player himself, he remains deeply committed to the development and growth of cricket in the Netherlands. He is a co-founder of both the Amsterdam Cricket Academy and the Dutch Cricket Development Foundation.
