- Seafarers – Hurricanes: duel between Titans

In the run-up to the World Cup in India, potential squad members have the opportunity to showcase their abilities for men's head coach Ryan Cook. The players are divided between two strong teams, the Seafarers and the Hurricanes. In a meeting at Westvliet on Wednesday, the Seafarers were only just stronger: 296-290.
The Seafarers batted first. Although Michael Levitt (42) and Vikram Singh (56) gave away some chances, the openers made 93 runs for the first wicket. After the departure of Wesley Barresi (35), captain Scott Edwards in particular stole the show with 90 runs. The Seafarers finished on 296/9. Olivier Elenbaas took 3-48, Mees van Vliet 2-45 and two catches, including a great running catch.
Although Viv Kingma dismissed Max O'Dowd with his second ball (slipcatch Vikram Singh) and Musa Ahmad escaped when an edge between keeper and first slip sneaked through, the Hurricanes improved on the go. Musa Ahmad (61) and Sybrand Engelbrecht batted strongly for an 80-run partnership, which was surpassed a bit later by Croes (62) and Nidamanuru (67): 109 for the fourth wicket. Thanks to cameos from Saqib (32) and Ryan Klein (16 off nine), the Hurricanes came pretty close: 290. A game of a very high standard, no doubt causing a headache for coach Ryan Cook.
