The Netherlands team also won the second of their three T20I’s in Oman. Pieter Seelaar again won the toss, sent Oman to the wickets and the home team reached a score of 166/4. The Netherlands surpassed this total for the loss of only 2 wickets in the 19th over.
This time the Netherlands squad contained three new players compared to the first match versus Scotland.Ben Cooper, Sikander Zulfiqar and Paul van Meekeren played their first match. in Oman’s batting innings Roelof van der Merwe was the most difficult bowler to play with his 2 wickets in his 4 overs for just 14 (!) runs. The other two wickets were snapped up by Fred Klaassen (1-26/4) en Shane Snater 1-39/3).
The Dutch again produced a quickfire opening with Myburgh (34 off 36 balls) and Visée (44 off 24 balls, 3×4 and 3×6). On 80 in the 9th over Visée lost his wicket, but he was succesfully succeeded by Ben Cooper who contributed quick runs in the hunt for Oman’s total. First with Myburgh, thereafter with Ten Doeschate (32 off 19). Cooper reached his half century, 50 exactly in 34 balls, handing the win to his team. the Man of the Match award was for Roelof van der Merwe for his 2-14/4.

A winter full of Orange cricket!
Following our national women's team's successful participation in the inaugural ICC Emerging Nations Trophy in Thailand, new major tournaments are already on the schedule for our national teams. In January, the Dutch women will play the T20 World Cup Qualifier in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu. The top four teams will qualify for the T20 World Cup in England in the summer of 2026. In February and March 2026, the Dutch men will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka. One of the top matches is the one in Ahmedabad on February 18, 2026, against host nation India.
