- Sharks beat Suns on last ball in Tachyon Security Super League

As part of 'power hitting' and bowling under pressure, three teams are playing T10 matches (and later in the season also T20s) against each other this year. Tachyon Security sponsors this Women's Super League. On Friday, June 16, the Sharks and the Suns played a high-quality and exciting game that was only decided on the final ball.
The Sharks won the toss and decided to bat. At 15/2, Kerry Tomlinson and Robine Rijke put an excellent partnership for the third wicket on the astroturf mat, until Tomlinson (55 off 22 balls) retired. Isabel van der Woning (2-9) bowled fantastically well, but could not single-handedly prevent the Sharks from passing the 100 in the available ten overs.
Despite the high target, the Southern Suns were well on course from the start. A 69-run partnership for the third wicket by Babette de Leede (60 not out off 32 balls) and Myrthe van der Raad (22 not out) nearly surpassed the Sharks' total. A fine final over from Hannah Landheer prevented that. A good match that showed the progression and eagerness of the players.
On June 23, there is one more round of play in the T10. The final will be played at HCC on 30 June.
