Sharks easily past Panthers in Super League women
Published at 24 June, 2023The New Zealand spinner Sarah Asmussen (2 for 10) – helped by two stumpings from keeper Fenna Vermeire – cleared the opening pair of the Northern Panthers. Thanks to Frédérique Overdijk (25), there were still 62 runs in the available ten overs.
Although Mikki Zwilling caught her sister Iris on the first ball of the chase, the Sharks went over 62 runs without any problems - and without even using Kerry Tomlinson - thanks to a smooth 30 (in 20 balls) from Robine Rijke and 18 (out of 19) by Hannah Landheer.
The Western Sharks are undefeated. On June 30, they will play the final of this new ten-over competition at HCC at 7 p.m.
