- Squads Netherlands and Ireland announced for CWC Super League series

Campbell includes new debutant
The Netherlands men’s squad for the upcoming ICC CWC Super League series against Ireland has been announced by head coach Ryan Campbell. He selected 15 players for the three ODI’s on Wednesday 2, Friday 4 and Monday 7 June at Kampong in Utrecht.
The squad is: Pieter Seelaar (captain), Scott Edward, Max O’Dowd, Stephan Myburgh, Ben Cooper, Bas de Leede, Timm van der Gugten, Logan van Beek, Fred Klaassen, Philippe Boissevain, Vivian Kingma, Brandon Glover, Tobias Visée, Musa Nadeem Ahmad, Saqib Zulfiqar
Staff: Ryan Campbell (head coach), James Hilditch (Assistant coach & analyst), Gary Kirsten (Assistant coach), George Dunlop (Physio).
Head coach Ryan Campbell: “Our first appearance in the much talked about Super League is no doubt the most important page in the Dutch Cricket History book. We hope to open this chapter with a really competitive series against our great friends and adversaries Ireland.
We welcome back Timm van der Gugten, Fred Klaassen and Brandon Glover from county duties and I expect them to form a potent fast bowling combination with Logan van Beek and Vivian Kingma, whose form has been outstanding so far this season.
We will continue to back our best young talent and I’m extremely pleased to add Musa Nadeem to our long list of recent debutants. His form in the Topklasse has been outstanding as well as his hard work throughout our long hiatus from International Cricket due to Covid. This will no doubt be an extremely tough series, but I know the players are ready to go and it should be an exciting week of cricket.”
Live broadcast CWC Super League on Dutch TV
The three ODI’s will be broadcasted live by the Dutch commercial broadcasting company Ziggo Sport. This is the first time ever that cricket can be watched live on Dutch television, including Dutch commentary.
The KNCB is extremely proud of this. KNCB CEO Milena van Not: "Our national men's XI is a steady performer at the highest possible level in international cricket. We are very excited that this series will be broadcasted live by Ziggo Sport, for all cricket fans in the Netherlands. Especially as spectators are not allowed on the premises due to the Covid-pandemic. It is also a great chance to get people, who are not familiar with the cricket sport in our country, acquainted with cricket. These live transmissions fit in well with our strategy to reach out to these people in the Netherlands, possibly attracting more members. Already, matches in our men's and women's top competitions are being live streamed at present".
Last week the live streaming via the KNCB YouTube channel of the two ODI's versus Scotland at VOC, Rotterdam, attracted no less than an amazing number of 1.3 million unique viewers.
The CWC Super league matches will be broadcasted as follows:
- Wednesday 2nd June : Netherlands – Ireland; start 10:30 am
- Friday 4th June : Netherlands – Ireland; start 10:30 am
- Monday 7th June : Netherlands – Ireland; start 10:30 am
