- Sri Lanka wins second edition Embassy Trophy

On Friday, the Sri Lanka team won the second edition of the Embassy Trophy. In the final it proved too strong for the 2022 winner, Bangladesh. It looked gloomy on the beautiful grounds of Groen-Geel in Wassenaar, but between the rain showers the matches could fortunately be completed.
Initiator and KNCB chairman Guido Landheer: "It was a huge success. Last year we had four participants, now eight. Cricket brings people together. There were about a hundred attendees, including almost all ambassadors of the participating embassies. A special thanks to Groen-Geel, which made its beautiful accommodation available again, and KNCB Regional Development Officer and organiser Marc Nota. Our ultimate goal is a major cricket festival in 2026 at the Malieveld in The Hague."
"Thank you so much for organising today - we had such a great time!! 😊"
"Team Australia 🇦🇺 thanks KNCB and other Embassies for participating. Great fun."

"And big thanks from team New Zealand too!"

"Thanks KNCB for arranging such a wonderful event for cricket playing embassies."
"Thank you KNCB for organising second edition of Embassy Cricket Trophy. Everyone enjoyed."
"Many thanks from Bangladesh"

"Thank you very much for all teams and kudos to the organizers (especially Marc). Good luck everyone! See you all in 2024 !!!"

The 2nd Embassy trophy was a great success! Great matches, an exciting final (congrats 🇱🇰!) and a nice BBQ: All in the spirit of friendship: That's 🏏 cricket!! Thanks to all of you and especially to organizer Marc. On to the Malieveld in 2026!
