- Sterre Kalis makes history with Northern Diamonds

Dutch international Sterre Kalis has made history at Lord's by winning the final of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the first time against the Southern Vipers with her team the Northern Diamonds (213-211).
Sterre: "Playing at "Lord's was like a dream for me. To become champion there makes it even more special."
The Northern Diamonds, batting first, were on 114/1, mainly thanks to a strong start by Lauren Winfield-Hill (65). After that, the Diamonds quickly lost four wickets, unfortunately including Sterre’s. Recovery by the middle order (Bess Heath 44) resulted in a final total of 213/9 in fifty overs.
The Southern Vipers' response started slowly, but captain Georgia Adams stood up with a solid 70. When she was dismissed in the 48th over, passing the modest Diamonds total became a challenge, with thirteen runs needed of the last over. That proved too big an ask, allowing the northerners to lift the trophy for the first time. In 2020 and 2021 the final was between the Diamonds and the Vipers as well, but in those editions the southerners turned out to be stronger.
