- Dutch cricketer Sterre Kalis (23) in preselection Women’s Premier League

In March of this year, the Women’s Premier League will take place for the first time. Most likely with a Dutch cricketer: Sterre Kalis (23) is included in the preselection.
The BCCI has stipulated that a player from an Associate nation must be included in each team. There are eight Associate players in the preselection.
Teams could register for an auction to obtain one of the licenses. Five parties took it up. The price tag: USD 572 million. For example, the Gujarat Giants team paid USD 158 million to have their women's team play in Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad houses the new Narendra Modi Stadium with a capacity of 132,000 spectators – by far the largest sports stadium in the world.
Royal Challengers (Bengaluru), Delhi Capitals, Capri Global (Lucknow) and Mumbai Indians (Mumbai) are the four other franchises that were allowed to register a women's team. The names of the selected players will be announced on 13 February.
Sterre Kalis: “I am very proud to have been included in the shortlist. Hopefully playing in the WPL will become a reality on auction day and that dream will come true!”
