A strong Netherlands ‘A’ squad has been selected for the upcoming two game 50 over series against Guernsey in Deventer on August 16 and 17. The thirteen player squad boasts a number of full internationals as they look to push their case for a spot in Ryan Cook’s Netherlands World Cup squad.
Head coach Pierce Fletcher’s squad sees a number of the World Cup qualifier winning squad selected, highlighted by the inclusion of Shariz Ahmed, Clayton Floyd and Vivian Kingma.
Also included for the first time in the orange is Voorburg CC’s 50 over captain Sybrand (‘SA’) Engelbrecht, who has had his eligibility cleared by the ICC and available for selection moving forward.
Fletcher on the squad selection and opportunity this series provides: “The squad assembled shows off the talent that we have here in the Netherlands. To be able to showcase this squad and present them the platform to perform is awesome and something we as a collective will continue to push.”
The series is a two game 50 over series and will be played at Salland CC, Deventer.
Guernsey are taking on Germany earlier in the week in T20Is before turning their attention to the Netherlands ‘A’ team. Both games will be live scored and streamed. Entry to the venue is free.
