- Team effort leads to second T20I win over USA

The Dutch women's team also won the second encounter with the United States. The Dutch team posted a total of 128 runs, with Heather Siegers (54) as top scorer. The US were unable to get close to this score as newcomer Lilli Hamilton took 3-13.
The Americans won the toss and opted to field. Heather Siegers will always go for her shots. In the match on Tuesday, this unfortunately led to a first ball duck, but on Wednesday the player of Rood en Wit was untouchable. With her 54 from 43 balls - her second T20I half century - she laid the foundation for the Dutch score. She was dropped twice and caught once off a dead ball - a cap fell from the waistband of keeper Ganesh just before the delivery. Bowler Ritu Singh (3-20) and keeper Ganesh got their revenge in the same over with a stumping.
If the Americans thought they had already gone through the best Dutch batters, they were proven wrong by Sanya Khurana, who played a gem of an innings and remained with 33 not out from 25 balls. She plays in the UK for Wiltshire and Cardiff University. Robine Rijke made 16 not out and was again important with fast running. Final score: 128/4.
Innings USA
Getting Dhingra and Ritu Singh out quickly was the first mission for the Dutch. They succeeded within four overs: Sterre Kalis took a simple catch in the covers and Singh hammered the third ball from Heather Siegers into the safe hands of Iris Zwilling at cow corner, who would later in the innings take an identical catch off Lilli Hamilton (3-13). Silver Siegers (2-18) dismissed lefthanders Pagydyala (15) and Bhogle with beautiful googlies. Hannah Landheer (2-17) was also successful in her first over as all the bowling changes worked out well. Geetika Kodali (17 runs) entertained the crowd with a bizarre ramp shot and a reverse sweep, but that was all as far as the American resistance was concerned. Team USA was all out for 75 in 16.3 overs. The Dutch were better than their opponents on all fronts. The next matches are on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th June at 12:00.
